Eksperimen dan eksplorasi yang menjadi nafas utama proses kretaif adalah landasan yang selayaknya tetap dipelihara dalam proses pembelajaran kesenian. Melalui jalan eksperimen dan eksplorasi, diharapkan para mahasiswa seni memperoleh sejumlah penemuan ide, konsep, wacana, dan kualitas estetis.
Pameran ini diniatkan untuk menghadirkan sejumlah penemuan tersebut. Sebagaimana karya ilmiah misalnya, hasil eksperimen dan eksplorasi di studio seni adalah sejajar dengan temuan di laboratorium.

Pameran Superhero berangkat dari art project yang dimulai pada tahun lalu, ketika sejumlah pelukis muda diundang oleh Hanna Art Space untuk menciptakan karya bertema superhero. Proyek ini dimulai dengan pertanyaan sederhana yang dilontarkan kepada para pelukis terundang: apa makna superhero bagi mereka? Apa yang mereka bayangkan dan pikirkan saat mendengar istilah “superhero”? Para pelukis diminta memberi jawaban secara visual, dalam bentuk lukisan. Mereka dipersilakan melakukan penafsiran personal kreatif sebebas-bebasnya terhadap makna superhero.

ADI’s SPELLING (From A – Z)
Alphabet in our life.
Maybe it is funny if we only see the outline of this exhibition’s concept, Adi presents, as we re-member our first experiences reading the alphabet. When we were children, our teacher taught us one by one – so we could spell it right. We started to combine those letters and we created words first, than sentences – finally we where able to create statements with all expressions we wanted.
What Adi does, is not trying to be a teacher. Every letter he presents is a part of a voice from some one who really cares about what happens in this world. A-Z is a magnificent combination of “situations happen” all over the world, and which are packed in this exhibition. What I see is, that this is a really “knock knock” to our heart, our mind, our eyes –

“Continental Mother” Essence of Bali

To initiate a new era of creative expression in Ubud, Bali, has been a cherished aspiration for International artiste, Keiji Ujiie. Relocating in January 2007 to Nyuh Kunning, south of Ubud, has given birth to this heart felt desire. Born in Japan in 1951, the sculptor/landscape Architect has successfully accumulated a 25 year body of artistic work to his credit. Typically monumental, large scale works located over sweeping landscapes, city building courtyards and public parks are home to some of his projects. Not only in Japan, but also in Mexico, Belgium, Lebanon and more recently in Sanur, Bali.
‘Continental Mother’ is Keiji’s debut solo exhibition in Bali, Indonesia. Commencing on the 11 th until the 31 st of July, Hanna Artspace in Ubud, Bali will exhibit 22 sculptures produced over the 2008-09 period. The concept of ‘Continental Mother’ is his expression of the Balinese landscape. Preferred
indigenous materials of choice are Javanese Limestone, Marble and Granite.
